Each tea towel is titled and dated. “The printing is so beautiful both in detail and colour that they really are fine enough to hang on the wall,” Barbara says. “Just iron them well, stretch them out, and pop them in a ready-made frame. You get a lovely print of generous size at reasonable cost.”

Barbara writes:
“I was working on a show centred around Hackney in East London, to celebrate the Millennium at the end of 1999. I walked around the area for days, well weeks really. Suddenly, I saw this resplendent row of Routemasters, still very much in use. Later, however, when they were taken off the road, that sign NOT IN SERVICE became particularly poignant.”
